National Oilwell Varco kutter 520 ansatte

Ledelsen i National Oilwell Varco Norway AS (NOVN) har besluttet at den varslede nedbemanningen vil omfatte 520 fast ansatte.

Det skriver selskapet i en pressemelding.

Nedbemanningen ble varslet i begynnelsen av april, men da var det ikke klart hvor mange ansatte som skulle vekk.

«Prosessen med utvelgelse, samtaler og oppsigelser vil bli gjennomført fra nå og de neste ukene. Etter planen skal de det gjelder ha mottatt oppsigelse innen utgangen av mai 2016.», skriver selskapet i en pressemelding fredag.

“Bakgrunnen for at vi gjennomfører en ny runde med nedbemanning er den samme som tidligere: Vi opplever sterkt reduserte investeringer innenfor olje- og gass sektoren, som gir redusert salg av nytt utstyr og etterspørsel etter ettermarkedstjenester,” heter det i meldingen.

Ledelsen skriver også at den usikre markedssituasjonen betyr at de i dag heller ikke kan si hvor omfattende nedbemanningsprosessen vil bli på litt lengre sikt.

Ikke klart hvor kuttene kommer

Før denne nye nedbemanningsrunden var det rundt 1560 ansatte i NOV i Kristiansand, rundt 620 ansatte i Stavanger, 180 ansatte i Molde og 140 i Oslo.

Fra 5000 til 2000 ansatte

Forrige nedbemanningsrunde var så sent som i desember i fjor. Da fikk de ansatte beskjed om at 900 ansatte ville motta oppsigelse. Dette kom i tillegg til de rundt 1500 fast ansatte og innleide som allerede hadde avsluttet sitt arbeidsforhold hos NOV.

I den forrige nedbemanningsrunden var det 155 ansatte som mistet jobben i Stavanger. Til sammen er det rett over 400 ansatte som har blitt sagt opp på Stavanger-kontoret.
